The National Lottery isn’t just a chance for people to buy a ticket and get rich. 23p in every pound spent on a ticket goes to good causes, adding up to roughly £33 million a week, handed out by bodies such as the National Lottery Community Fund and the National Lottery Heritage Fund.
Gareth often meets with many local organisations looking for funding and he completely gets how hard it is to raise money. That’s why Gareth often offers to write letters of support for them to big national bodies, just like the National Lottery.
Over the past year he has been delighted to see projects and groups in our constituency receive £1.5m in funding.
The £3.3m renovation of Bourne’s Town Hall, the fantastic community groups - Dementia Support South Lincs and Don’t Lose Hope, as well as the Grantham Museum, have all benefited from funding recently.
Incredibly, since the launch of the National Lottery in 1994, almost £45 million has now been secured by our community.
