Gareth Davies MP today welcomed the Leader of the Opposition, Kemi Badenoch MP, to Grantham as part of celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the birth of Margaret Thatcher.
Kemi Badenoch was welcomed to Grantham by a large number of local Conservative Party councillors, members, and supporters at the Grantham Conservative Club.
Margaret Thatcher was born in 1925 above a grocer’s shop on North Parade in Grantham. Later she attended Kesteven & Grantham Girls’ School, where Kemi Badenoch also visited this morning. While there, Kemi Badenoch met young girls who are benefitting from the same excellent education and start in life provided by the school to Margaret Thatcher.
Celebrations are ongoing throughout this week in Grantham as part of the so-called ‘Thatcher Fest’.
Gareth said:
“It is excellent to welcome Kemi to Grantham to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of Grantham’s most famous daughter.
From a grocer’s shop to the halls of power, her legacy continues to shape our nation and inspire so many throughout Lincolnshire and our country.“
