Happy World Book Day!

If you have children, your morning was probably spent sorting out costumes and last-minute props.

Reading for pleasure remains the biggest indicator of a child’s future success. Yet only 1 in 3 children currently say they enjoy reading - a figure that shows how important it is to keep encouraging it.

World Book Day is a great opportunity to do just that, with £1 book tokens helping children access books of their own. Over 23.5 million tokens are distributed each year, making a real difference in getting books into young hands!

I was pleased to drop into Bourne Book shop today to mark World Book Day! Reading is so important for us all, young and old, and it’s even better when you can do it while supporting excellent local bookshops on our high streets!
