Gareth with Babies Bill advocates

The Babies Bill is one that Gareth is proud to support.

This Bill would place 1,001 critical days onto the statute book and give the Best Start in Life and Healthy Babies programme a lasting legal foundation for the first time.

A baby’s brain develops faster in these first 1,001 days than at any point in life securing a child’s lifelong health, wellbeing and development.

We all know that a baby who is safe, secure and supported in these critical days is far more likely to thrive later on.

At the moment, the support available to families during this crucial period varies depending on where they live. This Bill would help address those inequalities, ensuring that every baby has the best possible start in life, regardless of where they are born.
