We have falling public sector productivity, inflation at almost double target, and a Government unable to cut spending due to pressure from Labour MPs.

As we have said time and time again, we will work with Rachel Reeves in the national interest to cut spending, particularly on welfare.

Higher taxes are a choice. One that it appears was all but confirmed by the Chancellor this morning.
