Grantham’s Prince William of Gloucester Barracks plays a leading role in training new recruits joining the British Army Reserve.

Through supporting the Regular Army during peacetime, on operations, and in times of war, reservists are a crucial part of our national defence. That’s why the Government’s own Strategic Defence Review recommends that the Army Reserve be increased by 20% in response to the threats facing our country.

To do this, we need the right infrastructure in place, which is why the Government is making the wrong decision by planning to close Grantham’s barracks by 2029. At Defence Questions today, I asked the Government to review their closure plans and Save Grantham Barracks.
